What's Holding You Back???

Today, in my spin class, my instructor was asking us "What are you afraid of?" And, all I could think of was the fact that I'm scared of being mediocre, but at the same time, I'm afraid of what will happen when I succeed. What? Who thinks that?? Who's is afraid of what will happen if you succeed?? I think I'm afraid I won't live up to a standard. I'm afraid of the fact that once I succeed, I won't be able to stay on top, to stay in that speed, because I get TIRED! I want to rest, I want to replenish myself and my soul! So, what am I going to do about that? I'm going to do my best and push through this season and succeed in where I want to go in this life, and then rest when I need it!

Self care is one of the hardest concepts for me personally. Something as simple as doing a face mask, wash my hair, and watch some Netflix (Dexter is my favorite right now), is sometimes all I need to relax and replenish my soul. If that doesn't work, then a glass of wine and some journaling with my puppies usually does the trick.

I'm definitely a hermit. I love to spend time alone with Koda and Niko. It honestly takes effort for me to be in the presence of people at times. I prefer those quiet moments, where I can think and be with myself.

Here are my 3 favorite self-care hacks for when I feel like I'm holding myself back:

1. Journaling! I love to take a pen to paper. Sometimes words flow, and sometimes words are just hard and I just doodle. But, either way, I always show myself grace in hard times.

2. Face Mask! I've been really trying to better my skin and make a better skin care routine for myself. I found Tula, and I can officially say, I'm obsessed. I've never had better, nor brighter skin, since beginning to use this skin care line. I love the fact that their acne line is packed full of probiotics, which helps with decreasing my inflammation in my skin.

3. Gym Time for myself! I love working out with my friends, but in reality, I'm a little selfish, so when I workout with someone else, I don't fully get my self-care in for the day. Gym time is the time for me better myself, push through the hard stuff and the uncomfortable stuff, as well as time for myself to think. I don't just go through the motions, I feel every rep, I push every rep, and I better myself with every rep.

Do you love these kinds of blogs? Please let me know in the comments! I'd love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions on blogs you'd love to see in the future!

As always, Be your best self!

xoxo,

Aud
